Thad has been a performing musician since 1981. Self-taught on drums, and later guitar, he is also a formally trained vocalist. As a "singing drummer", Thad has kept busy over the years with these disciplines in many bands, bringing both abilities with equal skill to every performance. His experience singing in formal choirs brought him a natural ability to write and arrange vocal parts for the bands in which he played, most notably Detroit's Dungbeatles, winners of several Detroit Music Awards.
Thad began writing on his own in the late 90's after the acquisition of his first guitar. After building his studio in 2006, he began working on, without any particular goal in mind, a collection of songs which would eventually culminate in his 2014 release, the 12-song" Better Late". Self written, performed, recorded, and produced, Better Late is an eclectic mix of pop, prog, and Americana. His music is influenced by a wide range of music, from British Invasion, to progressive rock, to American artists like Tom Petty and John Mellencamp.
Based in Rock Hill, SC Thad continues to work the drum and vocal mike in the Charlotte, NC area with several acts, most notably the Alan Barrington Band.
